Kakvei?
Kakvei is a technology that improves your Khmer typing experience by converting Khmer transliteration to Khmer script and providing spell-check on Khmer script.
Kakvei History
Kakvei project first started in the third quarter of 2022. The idea of Kakvei came from the difficulties we encountered when typing Khmer. We understand the frustration of wanting to use Khmer but are being restricted by our inability to type it fast and inefficiency in creating Khmer documents that are free from mistakes. Having this common goal of improving the Khmer typing experience, we came together as a team to make this goal happen. We aim to create a tool that is available on different mediums, including both phones and computers, that can provide efficient and effective Khmer transliteration conversion and Khmer spellcheck and grammatical check.

Our Achievement
SmartStart Young Innovator
Program Cycle 5
Our team was honored with the grand prize of 10,000 USD as well as a fully funded trip to a regional conference from the Smart Start Young Innovator Program Cycle 5. During the six month incubator program, we received mentorship and support to complete our goal and prepare for the grand final pitching, where five competent startup teams got the chance to showcase their progress and results after the incubation period.
Business Model Competition
Our team was honored with the grand prize of 3,000 USD from the BMC Cambodia Startup Accelerator & Competition. A competition in which business models are studied and only the one with potential of turning income will be awarded the prize money as incentive to push the company forward.
